With each manuscript submission, author(s) must enclose a covering letter describing the significance of the work, its distinctiveness, and any similar work the authors reported before.

Peer Review Policy

Bhairavi: National Peer Reviewed Journal of Visual Arts and Performing Arts. Upon receipt of a manuscript, the Editor-in-Chief will send it for review. After receiving the reviews, the Editor-in-Chief will make a decision on status of the manuscript: acceptable; revise and resubmit; refuse; not suitable for this journal. After the Editor-in-Chief’s decision, reviews will be conveyed to the authors. Final decisions concerning publication are made by Editor-in-Chief.

Acknowledgements        
Any acknowledgements should appear first at the end of your article prior to any notes and references.

Permissions        
Authors are responsible for getting consent from copyright holders for reproducing any illustrations, tables, figures or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere.

Article Types

1.Research Papers: Research papers should not exceed 3,500 words (including references), though in some cases, longer accounts may also be entertained. Original manuscripts in style and content not accepted or published elsewhere, are welcomed. Each manuscript must include an informative one-paragraph abstract that briefly (fewer than 200 words) summarizes the article. Manuscripts along with an abstract and four or five key words can be submitted for publication. Keywords and abstract are important to ensure readers to find your article online through online search engines.

2.Review of Book : Reviews of high impact good quality books will be accepted. The peer  review board also review books submitted for review by the Author or Publisher of relevant books.

 3.Research Report/ Review Article/Short communications: These are limited to 1000 word counts, should also include an abstract and references.

Submitting the Manuscript        
Manuscripts should be emailed as a word file  and  PDF to npushpamji@gmail.com. Before submitting your manuscript, please read and strictly follow author’s guidelines and instructions provided below. Manuscripts not in compliance with these guidelines will be returned back. Manuscripts should be well organized so that the development of ideas is clear. Aim for clear communiqué of ideas. Short headings and subheadings improve the organizational structure of the manuscript and allow readers to look forward to the themes.

The cover page is meant mainly for the convenience of editors. It must include (in order):        
* Title of the paper        
* Date of submission        
* Authors’ names, e-mail addresses, phone number of corresponding author (Provide full contact details for the corresponding author including email, mailing address and telephone numbers must be provided)        
* Postal address        
* Author (s) Academic Qualification

* Word count of text, (including references)        
* The number of tables and figures        
* The number of references

Manuscript Preparation


Language        
Manuscript must be written in English/Hindi. It must be clear, concise and grammatically correct.

Page Setup        
-Font: Times New Roman or Arial (bold, underline or italics may be used where necessary)        
-Font (for Hindi): Krutidev010 or UniCode or Shiva medium) bold, underline or italics may be used where necessary)        
-Font size: 12 for English        
-Font size: 16 for Hindi        
-Spacing: Single space between lines and one line between paragraphs        
-Margins: 1 inch margins (top, bottom, left and right)        
-Page numbers: Bottom centre        
-Page size: A4        
-Paragraph: Justified text

Typical sections in a paper should include:

End notes & Foot notes        
Endnotes must be numbered consecutively throughout the text by superscript numbers.        
Footnotes will not be accepted.

References

Citation to work by four or more authors should be abbreviated with the use of et al. (e.g. John et al. 1999). Citation to work by one, two or three authors should always give the author names in full. Work with the same first author and date should be coded by letters, e.g. Harper et al. 1991a,b. Citations should be listed in chronological order in the text and be separated by a semi-colon, e.g. Begun & Gaston 1999; Royal et al. 2007. The references in the Reference list should be in alphabetical order with the journal name unabbreviated. The format for papers, , entire books and chapters in books is as follows:

Citations from the World Wide Web

Authors may sometimes wish to cite information available from the World Wide Web in similar ways to the citation of published literature. In using this option, authors are asked to ensure that fully authenticated addresses are included in the reference list, along with titles, years and authors of the sources being cited, and the most recent date the site was accessed.

 

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING ARTWORK, FIGURES AND OTHER GRAPHICS

Tables (If any): Each table should be on a separate page, numbered and accompanied by a legend at the top. These should be referred to in the text as Table 1, etc. Avoid duplication between figures and tables.        
Figures (If any): Figures and their legends should be grouped together at the end of the article before supporting information (if present). Figures should be referred to in the text as Fig. 1, Figs 1 & 2, etc. Photographic material should also be referred to as Figures. Photographic figures (good quality digital, colored photographs) should be saved in TIF[Tagged image file format] at 300 DPI[Dots Per Inch](or failing that in jpg format with low compression) and should have good contrast.        
Scientific Names (If any): Give Latin names in full, together with the naming authority, at first mention in the main text. Subsequently, the genus name may be abbreviated, except at the beginning of a sentence. If there are many species, cite a Flora or check-list which may be consulted for authorities instead of listing them, in the text.        
Units, Symbols and Abbreviations (If any): Authors should use the International System of Units. Mathematical expressions should contain symbols not abbreviations. If the article contains many symbols, they should be defined as early in the text as possible, or within the materials and methods section. For instance: time units are: s, min, h, days, weeks, months, years. Use ‘L’ for liter not ‘l’ to avoid confusion with ‘one’. Probability values should be denoted as P.

GUIDELINES FOR BOOK REVIEWS

The word limit for the book reviews should be no more than 2500 words. The book reviews should carry the following details of the book under review, in the given order, at the beginning of the review:        
* Name(s) of the author(s)        
* Name of the book        
* Name of the publisher/publishing house        
* Place of publication        
* Year of publication        
* Number of pages and        
* Price of the book        
* Photograph of cover page        
Details of the reviewer should be given at the end of the review in the following order:        
* Name(s) of the reviewer(s)        
* Name of the institute/organization/Government department, etc., that the reviewer is affiliated to and        
* Place of location of the above institution/organization etc.

Manuscript Submission

The journal has an editorial board and several reputed subject experts as ‘referees’. The review of manuscripts is done by reviewers according to the area of expertise. All decisions to accept, revise, or reject a paper will be made by the Editor- In –Chief.

ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES

Immediately after publication, all the articles are open access to scholars, academicians and others who can access and use with permission. Article-processing charge covers the range of publishing services we provide. This includes plagiarism check, typesetting and formatting for PDF and HTML versions of article, DOI reference number for proper citation, provision of online tools for editors, reviewing process, article production and hosting, liaison with abstracting and indexing services etc. The article processing charge will be payable only when manuscript will be editorially accepted. (Please do not pay unless you receive a link to pay online).        
We consider individual request for waiver of article processing charge (if the individual is not in a position to pay the charges due to economical conditions). To apply for a waiver, please request one during the submission of article. The conditions of waiver and decisions will be sent to individuals through email. Requests made during the review process or after acceptance will not be considered.
